Unique features
- The multi-award winning Nature Loo™ Alectura is a waterless composting toilet, specially designed for tiny homes, with a low underfloor clearance requirement of only 49cm.
- Certified to Australian and New Zealand standards and approved in all Australian states.
- The toilet system is easy to install and is free of odours, chemicals, plumbing, high maintenance and high electrical costs. It uses a natural aerobic process involving microorganisms, aka microbes, to break down waste into nutrient-rich compost.
- Microbes require a minimum temperature of 12°C, moisture content of about 60%, oxygen and a 25:1 carbon-nitrogen diet.
- The Alectura’s features help to achieve optimal composting conditions.
- The double walls and fan promote airflow, bringing oxygen to the microbes, reducing build up of moisture and drawing away odours.
- Excess liquids are drained through the false floor to an underground leachate drain through a sullage hose.
- To optimise the moisture level, wicks on the false floor reabsorb drained liquids back into the compost pile. To operate, all it needs is some bulking agent, microbes and enzymes.
